About Myself and My Work

I have been illustrating from a very young age (see the sample below, created at age 7!). I was born in a village to the south of Nottingham, and spent many hours as a child drawing pictures and colouring them in, something I was to become very familiar with in later life! After ‘A’ levels, I studied at Nottingham Trent University for an Art Foundation course, followed by a BA hons degree in Design Practice (specialising in illustration) at the University of Salford.

I have over 12 years experience working within the design industry, including a large amount of time spent working for Orchard Toys, a childrens’ jigsaw and games manufacturer. In this role, I produced illustrations, packaging and designs for childrens’ board games, jigsaws and activities. I have produced work for a wide range of clients, including WHSmiths, Boots, Asda, Sainsburys, British Home Stores and Mothercare as well as Orchard Toys themselves.

My artwork style is versatile and can be adapted to any purpose you may require. I am used to dealing with clients requests, visualising written concepts, making revisions to artwork and working to deadlines. I work using a combination of hand drawn images and computer manipulation. My final images are in digital format which means they can easily be sent to you on cd or via the internet. Similarly, if you wish to see pencil roughs at any stage of a project, these can also be sent digitally for approval, thereby speeding up the design process.
